OCAD K[nowledge] The a ’j[ust] ach, written horizontally ( 5½″). Low-fire casting slip, underglaze and glazes. Fired to cone 04.

Dots detached from the cast in such a way that they have become meaningless in Grade 1 braille and had to be interpreted as Grade 2. What would a real braille user read?

The “K” on the first line came from a defect in the mould itself; a repair was performed earlier on the mould but the repair was not done correctly, resulting in the “U” being consistently cast as a “K”. In Grade 2 braille the letter “k” becomes the word “knowledge”.
